Hajra Khan

Hajra Khan is a registered U.S. patent attorney with experience in preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications in various technologies and processes such as security systems and automation. She is also experienced in the procurement of trademarks at both the state and federal levels. Ms. Khan has a passion for working with inventors, business owners and creators to develop trademarks, patents and copyrights to protect their latest creations.

Ms. Khan completed her law school studies at the University of Ottawa, Canada and is a licensed attorney in the Canadian province of Ontario, as well as a licensed US attorney in the states of Colorado and Vermont. Ms. Khan began her legal career at the Department of Justice in Ottawa, Canada where she handled legal matters in Civil Litigation, Family Law, War Crimes & Crimes Against Humanity and the Correctional Service of Canada Divisions.

Prior to joining Foley IP Law, Ms. Kahn was an associate attorney at Montroll, Oettinger & Barquist, P.C. Her practice there involved various legal areas, including employment and immigration law and intellectual property, representing clients in matters ranging from wrongful termination to asylum and family-based immigration petitions, as well as trademark and patent applications.

Ms. Khan’s legal interests include the intersection between food science and intellectual property, as well as medical devices and cosmetic-based technologies.

In addition to English, Ms. Khan is also fluent in Urdu and Hindi, and conversant in beginner-level French.

When she isn’t busy practicing law, you can find Ms. Khan baking up a storm, experimenting with different flavor combinations and bold color palettes! Ms. Khan is a published cake artist and is frequently invited to collaborate on digital content with cake-decorating giants like Wilton Enterprises. Her work has also been featured in prominent industry publications including American Cake Decorating Magazine and CakeMasters Magazine, as well as VoyageDenver, Shoutout Colorado and other digital and print media. 

Ms. Khan enjoys cooking with her family, experimenting with fusion desserts, learning languages and watching any and all iterations of the Law & Order TV series.
